MAY PLANNER SPREADS 2021

Month At A Glance

On the top of the right page, I created a mini-calendar for May with a ruler and *black micron in size 08. All of the other details, like the titles for each day of the week and the numbers for each day of the month, were done using my *sharpie s-gel pen and *muji pen in size 0.5.

I pasted in some fun washi tape and then used a black pen to draw in a spot to highlight any important dates in May. Next to that, I added a little note to myself reminding me to “surrender to the flow”— which felt appropriate because those wavy lines I had drawn on the bottom right page have water-like qualities.

Self-Care (Habit Trackers + “Good Memories” Log)

With Ontario still being under lockdown, it’s been more important than ever for me to be sticking to my healthy habits, and habit trackers are a great method of keeping me accountable. Again, I’m keeping the trackers pretty minimal— each tracker is made of 31 tiny squares and a larger square to highlight the specific habit I’m tracking (hydration, working out, and meditation).

At the bottom of the page, I pasted in some ripped-up *craft paper (which is one of my go-to page fillers), and drew out a basic sun doodle. I wanted these two pages to be sources of inspiration, both with the doodles and the content, so below the sun I wrote out some of my top three morning priorities: working out, expressing gratitude, and reading for 20 minutes.

Whenever I can find an opportunity to record some happy memories in my journal, I like to create a space for it because there are so many moments of joy that end up slipping from my day-to-day memory….a memory log is a great way for my future self to be reminded of them!

Menu Planner + Simple Budget

Now that the weather is warmer and more produce options are in season, I wanted to have a dedicated spot to write down meal inspiration. At the top of the page, I did a bold “menu” title, and each craft paper rectangle is a spot for me to record dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks/drinks.

This budget isn’t meant to be super detailed— just a spot to roughly figure out how much I should be spending in certain spending categories (i.e. food, beauty/clothing, home, and other) after I’ve dealt with my expenses for the month.

Beyond just budgeting, I wanted to set some money goals for the month:

  1. To read a new money book I added recently to my TBR— *Invested by Danielle Town

  2. Get clear on my savings intention for the year

  3. Review my 2021 spending (so far) to ensure I’m on track

Weekly Spread

This weekly spread has 6 vertical columns: one for each day of the workweek, and a combined column for Saturday + Sunday. I added a strip of blue at the top to ensure each page in this month’s layout has incorporated blue in some way.

At the bottom of both pages, I added in some more craft paper; the left block was used as a sleep tracker to record how many hours of sleep I get each night during the week, and the right rectangle was used to markdown “green meals.” I always try to challenge myself to make sure at least one meal a day has a strong veggie element to it.

I filled in the rest of the bottom of the pages with lines to make notes for any “next week reminders” and a quote that says “your energy is your currency.”
