Bullet Journal JUNE Plan With Me 2020

Hazel and I are back for June’s bullet journal PLAN WITH ME (if you’re new here, Hazel is the name I designated for my bullet journal, haha). This month’s spreads are really focused on helping inspire some changes in my personal and work life—I’m thrilled with how they came together!

Month-At-A-Glance

Like May’s month-at-a-glance, I opted to use a mini calendar for June with a little space to write down any main events/meetings/deadlines on the bottom of the page. The habit trackers this month are just basic 3x10 grids, but I think using *kraft paper for each habit tracker’s title makes them pop. Kraft paper has been a favourite of mine over the last few months, but this month it was a staple in every spread! I used glue to paste all the accent-papers into these spreads, but I’d definitely recommend *glue tape (I’ve run out, but it’s on my shopping list); glue tape is as easy to use as correction tape, and it doesn’t leave excess glue on the page or your fingers.

Also used in this spread….

*floral bunches paper: https://go.magik.ly/ml/x4b9/

*pink grid ruler: https://go.magik.ly/ml/s2ts/

Work Plans

These two pages ended up being my favourite pages in June’s “plan with me!” The left page is dedicated to video and blog post ideas, and the right page is filled with things I need to update/work on for my social media accounts. For example, something I’ve been meaning to update on my YouTube channel is my video playlists— I haven’t really organized them in years, so I’m long overdue for it. It’s a goal of mine this summer to really prioritize this list.

A simple way to add variety to a spread is to use different sized pens…this spread demonstrates that well. If you take a close look, you’ll notice that the black boxes, coffee cup doodle, and “things to update” title are a bit thicker than the lists; I intentionally made a point from switching between my *micron in size 08 to my *muji gel ink pen in size 05 so that I’d be able to subtly have certain items pop out in the spread. The use of *black washi tape and white writing (*using a gelly roll classic pen in 08) also helps bring attention to the bottom right page.

Self-Care Reset

I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I didn’t get much self-caring activities done in May…I’m hoping to change that in June! This spread highlights four self-care categories that I want to put work into: planning, digital detox, movin’ my body, and inspiring reads. The spread itself is pretty simple, but adding a 3D touch to the rectangular boxes made the pages look a lot more interesting. My favourite part about this spread is definitely the quote on the top right page (as a reader, I find quotes to be great sources of inspiration, so I like to feature them in my journal whenever I can).

Weekly Spread

*Kraft paper….so. much. kraft. paper. As extra as it is to be pasting eight kraft paper rectangles into my journal for a weekly spread, I really think the time was well spent. The layout isn’t anything mind-blowing, but the black drop shadows on the kraft paper and the line doodles at the bottom of the pages tie everything together nicely.

One of the reasons I love using kraft paper so much is that it gives me the flexibility to use black and white pens when writing; so for this weekly spread, I’m looking forward to using my white gelly roll pen a bit more than usual. I think this is going to look so cute when it’s filled out…if you want to see a similar spread, but with a slightly different decorative touch, you can check out this weekly spread I made from start to finish on IGTV.
