JANUARY 2021 BULLET JOURNAL SPREADS

Month-At-A-Glance & Habit Trackers

If you watched my 2021 bullet journal set up that I posted last week, then you’ll notice a lot of similar themes happening in January’s spreads when it comes to the textures I used. These first two pages are the home to my month-at-a-glance and habit trackers.

To create the mini calendar, *I used a stamp with white ink I got from Michaels a few months back. Below the calendar is a section to highlight important dates—I make a point of adding these sections whenever I do a mini calendar spread so that the month-at-a-glance still has proper function and isn’t just something that looks pretty.

On the right page *I used a black micron pen to create the grids for my habit trackers for hydrating, moving my body for 20 minutes, and 60 seconds of deep breathing…..I recently saw that Yoga with Adriene is doing a new 30 day yoga challenge at the start of 2021, so I think I’m going to use that as my way to kill two bird with one stone. Yoga is one of my favourite ways to move my body and have those deep breathing moments.

Fun fact: the cursive writing below my habit tracker and on the craft paper strip both contain lyrics to Taylor Swift folklore and evermore songs….as I mentioned in my 2021 setup, her albums have been on repeat so I wanted to capture that love in a spread!

Goal Planning & Recipes-To-Try

I drew some shape confetti on my iPad with Procreate and used my *Silhouette Cameo 4 to cut out the shapes on green card-stock—these shapes are simple enough to draw out with a marker/tombow, but I like the added texture change that the card-stock adds.

The left page is a spot to expand a bit more on any goals I have for the year: there’s a spot to write down a deadline for the goal, and a spot to break the goal down into smaller, less intimidating steps.

On the right page I drew out three columns to be a dedicated place for me to write down new recipes to try throughout the year. The first column is for breakfasts and drinks, the second is for meals, and the third is for desserts. I’m always coming across goodies I want to try making on Pinterest so it’ll be nice to have a spot to write them down. If you want to see my food board on Pinterest, you can check it out HERE— I also have a dedicated bullet journal inso board!

Simple Budget & Spending Tracker

After the chaos that is holiday spending, whenever January comes around I become really sick and tired of money leaving my wallet so a spending tracker becomes a welcomed addition to my planner. On the left page I have a spot to write down a pretty basic budget for the month: a big budget total, and a quick break down of how that money should be divided between categories like food, home, clothing, beauty and other.

On the right page, I created table for keeping track of purchases: there’s a spot to write down the date of a purchase, the item/store, and the total amount spent. Since I made it two columns, there’s quite a few slots here for recording purchases, but this is definitely something that could be expanded into a two page situation.

Vertical Weekly Spread

For this weekly spread, I gave each day of the week a craft paper rectangle to record the number of the day of the week — a cool touch I did with these square title blocks was writing out each number in cursive, and then going back in with a white pen to add number confetti around it.

For each day of the week, there’s a section for writing the main event of the day, a mini to-do list, and also a quick idea for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
