Winter Wardrobe Essentials

Can I just say— baby, IT’S COLD outside! 😅 The winter is quickly coming upon us and we must all protect ourselves from Mother Nature’s cruel chill. So today I’m sharing 5 (PRACTICAL) WINTER WARDROBE ESSENTIALS….this is not the time to talk about skirts and heels people! It’s time for survival mode! Let’s get into it….

Parka

I live in Toronto, Canada, which means  — even during the winter — I’m still doing a lot of walking around! Walking in the winter is sometimes a painful experience, but the key is to purchase a jacket that actually keeps you warm. This year I invested in a puffer jacket from Aritzia that is designed to protect against -40 degree celsius weather (thank-youuuu Aritzia)…I love that it has arm insulators that prevent wind from making it’s way through my arm/neck holes!

I also love the fact that this parka comes in a variety of colours and materials, so you can find the perfect look for you! I plan to have this one in my closet for years, so matte black was a great choice for me ✨

The Super Puff: Long, Matte, Black

This coat runs a bit big so I sized down to an XS— you can see me try it on in this video.

Quality Boots

Wet feet are the worst kind of feet. Winter boots aren’t the most fashionable thing in the world, but I included them in this essentials list because without a good pair of waterproof boots with proper grip, your time outdoors will involve lots of slipping and sliding!

I’ve had these *UGG “Kesey” boots for a few years now— I love that they’re a slightly more stylish option for a winter boot. They aren’t very heavy either so I appreciate the lack of additional weight on my feet when I’m trekking around the city.

The Cable Knit

The cable knit sweater is a closet staple that has the potential to be in your wardrobe for years. I like to stick to neutral colours when it comes to my knits so that I don’t risk becoming sick of them as years go on. An added bonus? Neutrals are super easy accessorize to achieve different looks!

Hats

The classic pompom hat is one that everyone needs in their winter wardrobe. If I need to be wearing a hat because it’s cold/windy outside, then I like to make sure it’s at least one that is fun to wear! Pick a cute pattern, go for a dramatic pom pom, etc.

Keep your ears warm without ruining your hair— earmuffs are your new best friend! I love a good toque, but earmuffs are an adorable alternative with good ear-covering-power 😍

Black Leggings

Whether you’re cozy, lounging at home or need the perfect pant to pair with your oversized sweater, a good quality pair of black leggings can serve so many functions! I have been LIVING in my *lululemon align leggings this year…..they are a concerning level of comfortable 🤪
